It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle...
What I would really like to
do is introduce you to the rest of the family...

MINDY is 25, and has her Industrial Engineering, degree from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). She managed to pull off a minor in Dance and Ballet. She completed her Masters in Operations Research from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor She is especially good at math (all the other kids come to her when they need help) and art (takes after her Dad). Somehow, she manages to squeeze in time for Drama, Music, church and friends. She has been taking Ballet for close to 12 years and is quite a dancer now. While she doesn't share her dad's love for computers, she has found them to be a useful tool at school, what with high speed network drops to every dorm room! (Well, OK... so this picture is about three years old, but I still like it a lot...) |

SAM is the newest computer wizard in the family. He's finishing his Senior year at Clarkson University in balmy Potsdam, NY, majoring in Math and Computer Science. He still loves playing video games on the computer, though he is beginning to learn to balance Study and Play. We sometimes play first-person shooters (for example, Enemy Territory), but Sam sets up the 'bots so we can play on the same team, since he'd smear me all over the map if we played against each other... ;-) For the Fall 2005 semester, he was working an internship at Harris RF Communications, and needed to take a required course for that semester. Since he couldn't take it on campus, he ended up basically teaching himself theory of automata, and taking the class tests over the Internet. |

Well, he started out staying with us for a one-year stint as an exchange student, but ended up staying for about 5 years. Man Tai still counts as a part of our family. He comes to us from Hong Kong, and now going to Roberts Wesleyan College here in Rochester, NY. He's majoring in communications, and spends as much time as he can taking photography classes. |

SUE finds her most peaceful moments walking in the woods. We've spent many wonderful weekends staying at Letchworth State Park. We have made a habit of trying to go there once a year, early in the spring when the trillium are in bloom. It's a great way to take some time just for the two of us. Alas, Sue can't spend all her time walking in the woods. Where she really spends most of her time is at the Heritage Christian Services, as a staff worker in one of the homes. It's a challenging but rewarding work, caring for and loving adults with various disabilities. |
